Senior Manager, Logistics Strategic Projects & Continuous Improvement
Location: Longueuil, Quebec
Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Logistics Operations Optimization, you will lead large‑scale strategic projects focused on improving the operational efficiency of a complex, global, just‑in‑time supply chain. You will manage a multidisciplinary team, develop and execute strategies, manage risk, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the company’s network.
Responsibilities
Define, develop, and deploy strategic plans for the entire logistics sector in collaboration with stakeholders.
Identify business objectives and potential transformations for internal and external clients and integrate them into strategic discussions.
Translate industry best practices into concrete, sustainable action plans.
Evaluate the long‑term impact of logistics transformations across the global network.
Lead day‑to‑day change management with teams facing logistics, technological, and operational transformations.
Support stakeholders in adopting new strategic directions and maintain continuous alignment on the ground.
Anticipate resistance and implement tailored communication strategies.
Collect requirements and technical data, perform impact and profitability analyses.
Draft project charters, secure funding, and coordinate project execution.
Define deliverables for each project (schedule, risk, communication, etc.) in collaboration with stakeholders.
Ensure implementation of action plans and coordination of tasks for internal and external contributors.
Assume direct execution of certain action‑plan tasks as an individual contributor when required.
Optimize costs and reduce waste to achieve objectives within defined time and budget.
Lead project committees and communicate progress metrics to senior leadership.
Manage annual project budgets, report expenditures, and progress to senior leadership.
Foster and strengthen the culture of operational excellence and high performance, driving business results through the CORE Continuous Improvement Program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial logistics project management with tangible deliverables.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing teams.
Strong strategic thinking and demonstrated ability to design, deploy, and execute concrete plans that translate a global vision into operational results.
Dynamic, with a strong ability to challenge the status quo, implement new processes, and engage teams in change.
Excellent communicator—able to influence team members, clients, and management.
Robust leadership and customer‑centric focus.
Advanced analytical skills with a systematic approach to problem solving.
Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SAP/ERP.
Capability to work under pressure and adjust priorities based on client needs.
