Business Partner, Marketing and Communications - Electricity Demand Site Management (eDSM) - Fulltime, 2-Year Contract (On-Site)
About the role
You will be a key member of the Marketing & Communications team. Reporting to the Manager, Brand Strategy and Marketing, this position is a cross-functional role responsible for the marketing and communication of energy efficiency and initiatives, supporting the Oakville Hydro portfolio. The successful candidate will bring a “get-it-done” attitude to the team and act as a brand ambassador.
Responsibilities
Supports Electricity Demand Site Management (eDSM)'s communications programs, events, and initiatives through coordination, planning, execution, and performance measurement. This position plays an important role in advancing customer and stakeholder engagement through clear communication, outreach, and administrative support. It contributes to the planning and delivery of community engagement activities, guides participants through eligibility and application processes, and conducts initial assessments to support program implementation. The incumbent develops marketing collateral, internal and external communications, event and promotional materials, news releases, and website and social media content.
Internal and External Marketing and Communications
Create effective communication strategies for all programs and initiatives
Prepare briefings, reports, media releases, and presentations
Develop engaging and informative content across various platforms, including web, email, print, and social media (X/Twitter, Facebook)
Oversee social media presence for outage management, enhance brand awareness, and reinforce messaging
Track engagement metrics and adapt strategies to optimize impact and outreach
Maintain consistent, clear,
and professional messaging across all communication channels
Manage the planning and execution of internal/external events for promoting all customer programs, e.g., trade shows, workshops, and obtain budget approval
Electricity Demand Side Management (eDSM)
Lead the marketing, planning, communication, and reporting of electricity Demand-Side Management (DSM) programs in accordance with IESO guidelines and regulatory standards
Create targeted marketing plans and campaigns for specific customer classifications
Utilize social media and direct email to promote program opportunities effectively
Coordinate program update sessions and pursue them if deemed beneficial; prepare displays and materials for distribution while leveraging the Save ON Energy brand; review and support customer marketing campaigns through social media and bill inserts
Identify opportunities to boost participation in provincial and local conservation initiatives
Use the website and social media to provide program support materials and continue to enhance the Save ON Energy brand
Design and execute marketing campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and participation in energy conservation offerings
Represent the company at community outreach events and customer engagement activities
Coordinate projects as needed, monitor progress and enhance efficiency
Organize meetings and provide administrative support
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline
Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience
Strong background in communications, marketing, or public engagement, preferably in a utility or public-sector environment
Familiarity with Ontario’s energy regulatory environment and IESO programs is a solid asset
Exceptional communication, presentation,
and stakeholder management skills
Demonstrated experience managing social media content and strategy
Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects with diverse internal and external partners
Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, and content development (web, social, print)
Working Conditions
Professional office environment; this role requires working 5 days a week in our office
Additional hours may be needed as the workload demands
Minimal travel within Ontario required
