In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with federal and territorial regulations, and promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.ResponsibilitiesLead and participate in workplace audits and investigations of safety concerns, incidents and accidentsLead and participate in workplace inspections to ensure that equipment,
materials and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employeesDevelop and implement health and safety programs, including standard operating procedures, policies and training, to mitigate risk, optimize workers' health and safety, and foster a positive occupational health and safety cultureInitiate enforcement procedures on workplaces contravening organization and government health and safety standards and regulationsProvide training to employers, employees and the general public on issues of workplace safetyCommunicate, engage and influence decision-makers and workers to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.RequirementsGood experience of workplace health and safety laws and regulationsStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to spot hazards and find safety solutionsWork well independently and with a teamComfortable using Microsoft Office and safety softwarePost-secondary education is an assetTotal North offers the following benefits:3 weeks starting vacation.
