Job Description
The Junior Specialist is a member of the Flight Operations Engineering team which manages and analyzes aircraft performance and provides technical support to flight operations for procedures and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. They participate in the analysis of operational data and the implementation of new tools that improve the efficiency of flight operations. They contribute jointly with the team to the management of the aircraft database and the updating of existing tools to ensure flight safety.
Responsibilities
The main tasks are:
Support the administration of electronic flight bags, including hardware and software management and provide technical support to users;
Coordinate the quality assurance process for data collected by flight operations.
In addition, other flight operations engineering tasks may be added:
Maintain aircraft performance, weight and balance calculation software;
Monitor aircraft fuel consumption and calculate the performance factor used for flight planning purposes;
Explore new energy efficiency initiatives and monitor existing initiatives through flight data analysis;
Maintain the content of flight operations databases;
Communicate with suppliers regarding EFB tools;
Develop methodologies, tools, and a database to continuously improve the safety and efficiency of flight operations;
Participate in flight operations engineering department tasks, as needed, regarding aircraft performance, weight and balance, fuel efficiency, and other related topics.
Qualifications
University degree in mechanical/aeronautical engineering, technician in the aeronautical field or relevant experience in aviation;
Relevant experience in the aeronautical industry or equivalent is an asset;
Experience in airline operations, an asset;
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, in both French and English;
Strong analytical skills and good work methodology;
Knowledge of office automation tools;
Knowledge of Apple products (e.g.: iPad);
Oral and written proficiency in French and English*.
*A valuable command of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will frequently communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, clients or other stakeholders, both in Quebec and internationally.
