THE ROLE
As theJourneyperson Carpenter you are expected to be engaged in our safety program,executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and allapplicable code regulations and the Act.
Construct,fabricate and installconcrete forms in accordance with site specificrequirements and job scope.
Constructand erect columns and cores; suspended slabs; and stairs.
Operatehand tools, power actuated tools as required to perform tasks includinginspecting and ensuring proper safe use.
Installheating/hoarding, temporary fencing, guardrails, handrails and barriers asrequired.
Erectscaffold and related support as necessary.
ReadBlueprints and/or getting instructions from supervision.
Preparelayout including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work.
Ensurework areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
Othertasks and duties as required on the jobsite.
The position requiresphysically demanding motions and tasks
Candidates are required to be in good physicalcondition, fit for work and prepared to work on project sites outside in allseasons and weather
WHAT YOU BRING
CanadianJourneyman Carpentry Certificate and competent in the Carpentry Trade
Experienceworking with wall and slab formwork systems such as Peri and Doka
Valid Driver’s License or means oftransportation to project sites.
Strongcommunication and problem-solving skills
Abilityto thrive in a fast-paced environment while working as part of a team
A good understanding and/or ability to findinformation as needed in the OH&S; regulations.
