Role Overview
Ultra Maritime is seeking an experienced and motivated Jr Project Engineer (known internally as a Cost Account Manager) to help guide the development of advanced Anti-Submarine Warfare systems for the naval market.

Job Description
Purpose of the Role
As the Cost Account Manager, you will facilitate technical ownership of assigned projects, responsible for supporting Project Engineer and wider team in delivering engineering commitments to the customer. You will contribute to technical planning, execution, and risk management,



while mentoring engineers and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Own and manage engineering work packages / control accounts across the project lifecycle

Oversee engineering work packages for assigned projects, leading the team and work package owners to ensure timely delivery and quality of engineering outputs

Accountable for engineering team performance in meeting schedules and achieving key milestones within the defined scope

Support the Project Engineer in planning, coordinating, and executing Engineering Change Orders (ECO), ensuring timely implementation, effective configuration control, and alignment with project requirements, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.

Assist the Project Engineer in driving cross-functional work package execution across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams, ensuring stakeholder alignment, issue resolution, and on-time delivery of project milestones.

Maintain detailed tracking of engineering deliverables, change activities, action items, risks, and dependencies, providing accurate status updates and proactive support to keep project execution on track.

Works closely with Project Engineering Lead (PEL), Program Manager and System Design Authority to resolve technical, program, and resource issues

Aid in resolution of technical challenges through root cause analysis and corrective actions

Identify, document,



and prioritize emergent work within project, while evaluating impacts on resources, cost, schedule, and technical commitments

Develop and maintain engineering plans and schedules

Support PEL as liaison between technical teams, program management, operations, and supply chain

Provide timely and accurate reporting to leadership

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, computer Science) or related field

4+ years of engineering experience

Proven experience leading interdisciplinary teams and delivering complex systems

Strong understanding of systems engineering and sonar technologies

Experience across the full project lifecycle in the defence industry

Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVMS), Control Account Management (CAM), and Microsoft Project desired

Ability to make informed decisions on scope, schedule, cost management, quality, and efficiency

Skilled in motivating teams, managing stakeholders, and influencing outcomes without relying on authority

Professional Engineer (PEng) preferredCapable of acquiring a NATO security clearance and a Canadian Controlled Goods assessment

PMP an asset
