Senior Instructional Designer
Pay Rate: $78.80 hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 year

Raise is currently hiring a Senior Instructional Designer on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique chance to work with an industry leader.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Senior Instructional Designer in this role is responsible for leading training content development and instructional design specifically tailored to complex operational technology and system changes. This role provides expert guidance on change strategies, stakeholder engagement, communications, and training to ensure the successful adoption of complex business and technology transformations, directly supporting control room operators, schedulers, and field crews.
Project Overview
Project involves Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) implementation replacing aging systems and manual processes for control room operators, schedulers, and field crews.
Work Location & Model: Hybrid (averaging 3 days per week) based near the Langley Events Center. Note: This role requires on-site presence due to specialized hardware and console requirements.
Timeline & Urgency: Go-live phases begin in June 2027 and run through the summer. Immediate start needed (target start around September 1st); recruitment deadlines extended to the end of next week.
Deliverables & Accountabilities
Content Creation & Refinement: Immediately begin developing and refining training materials, job aids, reference guides, and baseline curriculum for control room operators and field crews.
Stakeholder Integration: Work directly within the business and project delivery teams—avoiding working in isolation—to facilitate conversations with subject matter experts (SMEs).
Change-Focused Training: Frame instructional design around the human and operational impacts of the change, clearly illustrating how new workflows and GE’s Grid_enoventa ADMS tool differ from legacy processes.
Enterprise Change Leadership: Lead organizational change management activities for enterprise-wide, strategic, high-risk, and high-impact initiatives. Conduct current-state and future-state assessments to identify operational impacts and readiness.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Monitor change adoption through metrics, stakeholder assessments, and progress reporting. Identify organizational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Change Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop enterprise change strategies that support complex business, process, and technology changes.
Act as a trusted advisor to project teams and senior leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies across multiple business units and leadership levels.
Build strong relationships with executives, business leaders, project teams, and key stakeholders.
Analyze stakeholder feedback and adjust change strategies to address organizational risks and resistance, facilitating executive presentations and workshops.
Training & Organizational Readiness
Lead the development and delivery of training strategies and organizational readiness activities.
Oversee instructional design and development of learning materials for enterprise initiatives.
Support leaders in driving employee adoption through coaching and change leadership practices.
Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements, developing sustainment strategies to ensure long‑term adoption.
Qualifications
10 years of organizational change management experience leading complex enterprise initiatives.
Prior experience with technology projects, particularly distribution control systems, operational technology, or enterprise systems like SAP.
Strong foundation in adult learning principles in the workplace; portfolio required to demonstrate design capabilities.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (for job aids/guides); video editing software (Camtasia); and e-learning tools (Articulate Rise or Storyline).
Ability to self-manage, work closely with diverse teams, and translate complex technical jargon into digestible training content.
Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, coaching,
and leadership skills with proven ability to influence senior leadership.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Nice TO HAVE (Assets)
Experience providing internal or external consulting services within public or private sector organizations.
Experience working in unionized environments.
Experience with distribution control systems.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Advanced English communication skills suitable for a professional environment.
Education and Certifications
Graduate degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
Certificate or diploma in Instructional Design or Adult Education. (considered nice-to-have assets)
PROSCI certification or CCMP (Certified Change Management Professional) designation (considered nice-to-have assets rather than strict screening requirements).
Project Management experience or certification (considered nice-to-have assets)
Additional Information
Local resources will typically work 1 day in the office and other days remotely (subject to change at client's discretion).
Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
Every contractor must supply their own “Smart Phone”. This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
