Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Architect 3 to lead the architecture, design, and strategic direction of enterprise-scale digital health solutions for the Province of New Brunswick .

The successful candidate will be responsible for defining architectural vision, designing scalable and secure solution architectures, guiding integration strategies, and collaborating with executive stakeholders to deliver modern healthcare technology solutions. This role requires extensive experience with enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, solution strategy, integration architecture, and public sector digital health initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess over 20 years of IM/IT experience, including significant experience as a Solution Architect/Strategist delivering medium to large-scale enterprise implementations within the Canadian public healthcare sector.

Position Summary
The Application Architect will provide enterprise architectural leadership for strategic digital health initiatives by defining technical direction, solution architecture, integration strategies, and governance standards.

Working closely with executives, business stakeholders, project managers, business analysts, solution strategists, and development teams, the architect will ensure technical solutions align with business objectives while supporting scalability, interoperability, privacy, security, and long-term sustainability.

The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership for modernization initiatives, including cloud migration, enterprise integrations, managed services, and provincial healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Solution Architecture

Develop enterprise-wide architectural vision and strategic solution roadmaps.

Design scalable, secure, and maintainable solution architectures.

Produce both high-level and detailed architecture documentation.

Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives.

Guide technical decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

Integration Architecture & Technical Strategy

Define integration architecture principles and standards.

Design enterprise integration solutions supporting healthcare systems.

Develop API strategies and technical integration specifications.

Establish component interactions, interface standards, and system dependencies.

Support interoperability across multiple enterprise applications.





Technical Leadership & Governance

Provide architectural leadership to development and technical teams.

Mentor developers and architects while promoting architectural best practices.

Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security requirements, and governance frameworks.

Review technical designs and validate implementation approaches.

Support solution quality, maintainability, and long-term lifecycle management.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with executive leadership and business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives.

Translate business requirements into technical architecture solutions.

Deliver executive presentations, architecture reviews, and solution briefings.

Act as the primary liaison between technical and business teams.

Facilitate architectural workshops and solution discussions.

Qualification Required

Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Required IM/IT Industry Experience 20+ Years

Solution Architect / Solution Strategist experience on medium to large enterprise implementations 6+ Years

Senior Solutions Strategist experience within Digital Health (New Brunswick Public Sector) 2+ Years

Excellent English verbal and written communication

Medium To Large Projects Include

Multiple business units or organizations

More than 10 project participants

Duration exceeding 9 months
