Job DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY: This position provides support to the Store Manager/ Corps Officer in the organization and supervision of all operational areas of the retail store. This position ensures the mission of The Salvation Army is supported by the Thrift Store generating funds and influencing positively the communities in which it operates.AccountabilitiesOversee safety of all customers, staff, and volunteers while in the storeAssist with planning of store layouts and ensure attractiveness of storeHandle customer concerns or complaints in a timely and courteous mannerSupport the Store Manager/Corps Officer in ensuring all cash operations are carried out according to Salvation Army Policy and Procedures and nightly deposits are secureOversee control of inventory by ensuring store donations are retrieved, sorted, and priced appropriatelyProvide direction and support to staff in the absence of Store ManagerParticipate in interviews and hiringProvide orientation and training, give feedback for performance management of staff in compliance with Divisional and Territorial standardsAssist in planning of store sales, promotions, and auctionsPlan staff schedule, staff meetings, and training sessionsSort, price, stock various goodsHealth and SafetyWorks in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abides by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and proceduresSupports Store Manager/Corps Officer in ensuring that all staff are aware of emergency procedures and are prepared to implement them immediately as necessaryEnsures the proper procedures are followed in the event of a workplace injury or illness, conducting incident investigations as applicablePerforms other work‑related duties as assigned.Critical Relationship ManagementInternal: Store Manager, Corps Officer(s), volunteers, staff.External:
