Water Resources Engineer to work with our surface water team, focused on mine water management, based in Eastern Canada.

Our surface water team interacts regularly with our other technical groups (hydrogeology, geochemistry, civil/geotechnical engineering) as part of our Canada Geoenvironmental group, creating substantial opportunity for cross-discipline learning.

Our projectsassistdomestic and international mining projects from a wide range of commodities and mining approaches to responsibly manage water through the full mining cycle, from planning through closure.

The position will involve the following range of typical activities : : Execution and leadership of engineering projects related to mine water management at all phases of the mine life, including planning, construction, operations, closure , and reclamation.

Preparation and review of engineering calculations, models, and methods.

Preparing, or assisting in preparing, drawings, technical reports and memos.

Participating in multidisciplinary teams with hydrotechnical, hydrogeological, geochemical, and civil disciplines.

Development of water and load balance models to inform site water management decisions.

Hydraulic analysis and design, to inform pump, pipeline , channel , and spillway conveyance .

Climatic and hydrological modelling in a variety of geographies to inform site water management .

Water quality/treatment process assessments to inform water treatment design.

The need to attend site visits and complete water management field work in Ontario, Quebec, and eastern Canada.

Opportunities for project work also exist globally.

Active engagement in development and/or advancement of SRKs engineering practice.

Active engagement and participation in business development.

Active engagement in mentoring others.

Essential Requirements: An undergraduatedegree in environmental, civil,water resources, or chemical engineering.

Minimum 8years of relevant consulting experience in the mining industry.

Strong analytical and computer skills using MS Office arerequired.

Registered or eligible for professional registration (OIQ and PEng).

Valid drivers license anda good drivingrecord.

Commitment to conducting work safely.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral. A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to take on new challenges.

Willingness to travel locally, nationally, and potentially internationally.

Ability to work independently, on-site, outside and in remote locations.

Ability to work long hours in the field, tolerating variable weather conditions.

Bilingual English/French is considered a strong asset for this position.

Valuable Skills:



Experience with specialized engineering design/analysis software typical for this role (e.g.,Goldsim, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, WMS, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Civil 3D, etc.).

Experience with data science, coding (Python, R, Visual Basic), or AI (Claude Code) is an asset.

Construction QA/QC or general construction experience is an asset. A graduate degree in a related field is considered an asset.

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects and may include periodic travel, either domestically or internationally.

The estimated base pay range for this position is$115,000to$145,000.

The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
