Reporting to the Senior Manager – Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will act as a business partner for the Corporate, Commercial, and/or Operations groups and will oversee all human resources aspects affecting assigned clients in order to generate business results. The successful candidate will provide strategic, in-person, and timely advice, as well as resolve complex or systemic labor-related issues by proposing suitable solutions that require attention, regarding multi-faceted and multi-level aspects of the business.

Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Senior Manager – Human Resources, team up with management to determine current and future human resources requirements, based on organizational needs and operational priorities.

Accompany and guide senior executives and all levels of management to ensure effective application of human resources policies, programs, and procedures, ensuring compliance and understanding, and to ensure the smooth running of HR activities related to the employee life cycle.

Collaborate with and advise executives at all levels and their business units to improve efficiency, organizational design, and team structure.

Collaborate with key human resources experts to provide sound advice to team leaders in the areas of training, employee engagement, development, and change management.

Based on organizational restructuring processes and corporate talent management programs,



support business units in establishing appropriate succession plans to minimize organizational risks.

Lead HR-related projects for assigned clients; provide coaching, research data, and propose options and solutions to support business objectives.

Make human resources decisions that are in the best interest of Air Canada; challenge decisions, if necessary.

Guide and advise other HR advisors on difficult or sensitive issues related to performance, disciplinary action, and termination of employment. Ensure consistency of HR procedures across departments.

Guide and advise managers and administrative and technical support staff, where applicable, on any workplace-specific issues. Address their needs, provide resources, make recommendations, and elevate cases, if necessary.

Prepare and deliver presentations to key internal and external partners to support appropriate human resources initiatives.

Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to develop a recruitment strategy to find suitable candidates for positions requiring highly specific and unique skills.

Assume a leadership role in the absence of the Senior Manager – Human Resources.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations or a related field.

Professional human resources title,



an asset.

At least five years of professional experience in human resources, including experience in a human resources generalist role.

Proven ability to identify human resources needs and requirements and develop an appropriate action plan.

Proven project management skills.

Strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.

Reliability, team spirit and proven ability to work independently.

Ability to build strong relationships and credibility with all levels of management.

High level of customer orientation.

Autonomy and dynamism.

Change agent, results-oriented attitude and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Employment conditions:

Candidates must be eligible to work in the country concerned at the time an employment offer is made and are responsible for obtaining necessary work permits, visas or other authorizations. Proof of eligibility must be provided before the start date.
