Elevate student support as a Continuing District Counsellor in Hope, B.C. Focus on mental health services for K-12 students, with flexibility to meet community needs across settings.
This itinerant role within the Inclusive Education Department prioritizes supporting students, primarily in elementary schools. You'll lead initiatives in SOGI and Violence Threat Risk Assessment while advocating for students and families. Collaboration with Aboriginal communities and educational staff is essential for effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver mental health services to remote and in-person students
• Work flexible schedule to address family needs and appointments
• Lead district-level initiatives in violence threat assessments
• Collaborate with educational staff and external agencies
• Connect families with community resources for support
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Counselling focused on school counselling
• Valid B.C. Teaching Certificate
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of Inclusive Education policies
• Experience with crisis response and emotional disorders
