This 18-month term role involves providing culturally appropriate services in line with established BC policies. You will work with the Out of Care Team to ensure families stay connected and children are reintegrated into their communities. Your expertise in family dynamics, assessments, and interventions will be crucial in upholding the rights of children and promoting cultural identity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive placement requests from social workers for children in care
• Coordinate placements for children in emergency or planned situations
• Evaluate and assess caregivers regularly for suitability
• Recruit, train, and support foster parents and placements
• Liaise with various stakeholders on placement issues
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field
• Three years of relevant human services experience
• Solid communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with reliable transportation
• Ability to manage confidential information and conduct criminal record checks
