As the Leader, Building Safety, you will oversee the operations of the Building Safety division. This pivotal role involves providing technical guidance to Safety Codes Officers, managing permit issuance, and monitoring service levels to meet the City’s Quality Management Plan. Your strategic leadership will ensure timely permits, outstanding customer service, and adherence to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise permit issuance and compliance monitoring
• Mentor Safety Codes Officers on codes and policies




• Evaluate service levels and identify improvement needs
• Provide technical guidance on building safety matters
• Manage conflict resolution within the team

Requirements:
• Journeyperson or degree with 3 years of relevant experience
• 10 years as Building Safety Codes Officer in HVAC
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Code
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence
• Excellent customer service and technical writing skills
