Description: The Respiratory Therapist I (RT) is responsible for professional assessment, therapeutic intervention and follow-up for patients with cardio-pulmonary and related disorders. The RT I reviews clinical referrals, conducts assessments and performs diagnostic testing,
develops and administers care plans for patients, facilitates discharge and provides education to clients, family and care givers. The RT I is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a recognized and accredited school of Respiratory Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration and member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Teams. Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. Strong critical thinking, assessment, and organizational skills. Certification in Arterial Blood Gases. Strong clinical skills in ventilation, airway management, and critical thinking.
Preferred Qualifications: Continuing Care experience. Connect care experience. Experience with respiratory assessments and patient-centered rehabilitation care. Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) designation. Experience in a recognized pulmonary rehabilitation program.
