The Opportunity: The Supply Teacher will be responsible for providing classroom coverage on an as-needed basis in the Junior School, assisting with supervision, co-curriculars, and implementing the program within the classroom as assigned.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Create and contribute to a classroom environment that inspires and supports learning and personal growth through a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lens; Establish supportive rapport with students and colleagues; Motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a strong foundation for further education in accordance with each student''s ability; Deliver lessons that allow for differentiated learning for all students,
as assigned by the teacher; Use relevant technology to support instruction; Supervise students during lessons, at recess and lunch or as assigned; Demonstrate a flexible, responsive approach to teaching and learning.
Candidate Profile: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution; Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/Junior qualifications and a minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience; Specialty in French, Physical Education, and/or Music is an asset; Experience with and knowledge of IB is an asset; Proven ability to build a caring rapport with students; Knowledge of relevant technology; able to work effectively in an iPad and Mac
Book environment using required applications; Strong oral and written communication skills; Strong commitment to duty of care; Able to work independently with minimal supervision; Accountable and responsible, is self-motivated, and shows strong initiative; Maintains a positive attitude and a calm, professional demeanour; Alignment with Branksome Halls mission, vision and values.
