Position Summary
Cross-appointed between UHN’s Data Analytics and Gattuso Centre for Social Medicine programs, the Analytics Lead will play a critical role in shaping the initiatives within the Social Medicine program that seek to improve the delivery of care for marginalized and underserved populations. As a member of the Data & Analytics team, the Analytics Lead exercises considerable judgment and independence in supporting corporate, strategic and operational initiatives.

Duties

Data storytelling and performance insights; translating complex analytics into clear narratives, surfacing opportunities for improvement and enabling leaders to make evidence-based decisions.

Stakeholder engagement and relationship management; partnering with clinical programs and leadership to understand needs, align analytics to strategic goals, and build trust in data.

Strategic analytics and improvement enablement; designing and delivering analytic solutions (dashboards, reports, models) that drive transparency,



accountability, and continuous improvement.

Analyze and interpret data from large information databases such as IDS, TPS, EPIC, REDCAP forms, City of Toronto, and IntelliHealth

Partner with clinical programs, corporate teams, and leadership to interpret performance data, identify key trends, and generate actionable insights that inform strategic and operational decision making.

Build positive trust-based relationships with stakeholders, supporting them in defining data needs, interpreting insights, and embedding analytics into daily workflows.

Translate complex, technical information about public health population health and the social determinants of health into written reports and summaries for various audiences

Evaluate analytics solutions implemented to ensure sustainable value and improvement

Assists in interpretation of results and preparation of material for presentation, publication, and/or grants

Representing Data & Analytics and the Gattuso Centre in a professional manner with clinical, education and research teams

Lead or contribute to analytic initiatives that align with UHN and Ontario Health provincial priorities, ensuring timely delivery, risk management, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Maintain relationships with internal and external partners who frequently use and/or provide health data and work collaboratively with all areas of UHN and Data & Analytics

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

An Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Public Health or related field

Minimum 3 years of related experience in healthcare analytics, performance management, or related roles

Minimum 1 year of related experience in project management

Hands on experience with the CIHI datasets, Discharge Abstract Database (DAD), National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS), Continuing Care Reporting System (CCRS), National Rehabilitation Reporting System (NRS), or other large data sets (e.g. Wait Times) is preferred

Experience designing and developing dashboards, routine, and ad-hoc reports from multiple datasets (e.g. Power BI,



Excel, SQL, or compatible tools).

Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression principles and practices

Knowledge of the Ontario health care system and public health and strong foundation in the social determinants of health, population health and health policy is an asset

Flexibility working in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment

Excellent data analysis skills to identify patterns, visualize findings and communicate insights

Able to work with minimal supervision on moderately complex tasks with a level of ambiguity

Able to work with and balance the needs of clinical, operational, research, and executive teams.

Exercise diplomacy, discretion, and sound decision making abilities.

Able to effectively deal with high priority unscheduled tasks and problems

Experience developing presentations and communications to various stakeholder groups including executive level management

Experience in program evaluation
