What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director, Facilities,
the Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for managing operations and strategic planning for maintenance and improvements for the County’s facilities. The Manager leads the facilities operations team and ensures compliance with safety-related legislation and regulations. This role is responsible for implementing facilities projects by providing project management services, facilities operational planning and maintenance updates. This role oversees the identification, procurement and implementation of operational upgrades and innovation, provides technical advice, ensuring facilities operations are satisfactory across the County.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
Post-Secondary education in Facilities Management, Property Management or related areas
Minimum 8 years of experience in facility operational management
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
Experience supervising a facilities team
Skills & Abilities
Expert knowledge of Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Systems and/or building envelopes (their interaction, life cycle and performance indicators)
Knowledge of property management, maintenance practices and processes
Knowledge of the relevant legislation including the Construction Act, Ontario Building Code, National and Ontario Electrical Code, Ministry of Labour regulations, Fire Code, Ontario Fire Marshals Act, CSA Standards, municipal by-laws
Good understanding of life cycle costing analysis for facility investments
Experience with public procurement of goods and services
Experience with budget preparation and management
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Working knowledge of project management methodologies
Proven ability to solve problems and resolve conflict
Sound judgement and critical thinking are required
Valid “G” driver’s license

Market-competitive salary: $110,165-$129,602 per annum
