Our client is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist to join their Design Team.

This role turns client requirements into fully engineered automated machinery, covering the full lifecycle: concept, equipment selection, electrical design, PLC/HMI programming, and commissioning support.

Work spans virtually every industrial sector in Ontario.

Develop automation concepts, including equipment selection and control architecture (site visits as required) Produce electrical designs, schematics, and panel layouts for custom machinery Develop PLC and HMI programs to project standards Collaborate with mechanical designers, electricians, and shop personnel through build, integration, and testing Provide field service: troubleshooting and optimization of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and vision systems Participate in quoting, design reviews, risk assessments,



and project planning Troubleshoot industrial networks Electrical Design,concept,Commissioning,PLC Programming Degree or diploma in Automation, Controls, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics or related field 5+ years in industrial electrical design, controls, and programming Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment CAD experience producing skilled electrical drawings Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; self-starter Designing automated machinery from concept through commissioning PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron) and HMI development Industrial vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) Industrial network troubleshooting (Ethernet/IP, Device
