HOURS OF WORK: 0.4 FTE; DAY SHIFTS

UNION: ONTARIO PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S UNION

WAGE RANGE: $44.67 TO $57.90 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote excellence, quality patient/client care and high professional standards, the Speech Language Pathologist will assess, treat and program for the inpatient units. He/she will work in an acute care setting and will also program for a Communications Disorder's Assistant. The incumbent will perform all other relevant duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the department to which s/he is assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o Master's Degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology

o Registration with CASLPO

o VFSA experience an asset

o Experience with acquired communications and swallowing disorders and familiarity with providing service in an acute care setting preferred

o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting professional practice standards as outlined by the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists and related professional associations

o Applied NH values and skilled practice standards to patient/client care and service.

o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education, expanded scope of practice and relevant practical experience in problem solving

o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment,



and decision-making skills

o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision

o Consistent and regular attendance required
