The SAP Fioneer FPSL Banking Consultant is responsible for hands‑on functional configuration and implementation of SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) for banking products .
The role supports detailed design, build, testing, and deployment of intregration with source system, event‑based accounting, ensuring accurate subledger postings and seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance in line with IFRS 9 and local GAAP requirements.
The consultant acts as a functional execution specialist , translating approved finance designs into FPSL configuration and supporting testing, reconciliation, and go‑live activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. FPSL Functional Configuration (Banking)
Configure FPSL objects for banking products including:
Loans and advances
Deposits
Securities / bonds (if in scope)
Contract types and contract attributes
Event types and event processing
Posting schemas and accounting determinations
Support setup of:
Valuation areas
2. Accounting & IFRS 9 Support
Implement FPSL accounting logic aligned to:
IFRS 9 classification (AC / FVOCI / FVTPL)
Effective Interest Rate (EIR) based accruals
Fee and charge handling
Support postings related to:
Initial recognition
Accruals and amortization
Assist Finance Lead/Architect in validating:
Accounting outcomes
Posting results at contract and GL level
3. Integration Support (Source Systems & S/4HANA)
Support inbound integration from:
Core banking systems
Treasury / trading platforms
Assist with:
Attribute mappings and enrichments
Support outbound integration to:
SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal
Validate:
Posting completeness and consistency
Execute and support:
Unit Testing (UT)
System Integration Testing (SIT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Perform and support reconciliations:
Source system vs FPSL
Analyze and resolve:
Accounting mismatches
Support parallel run activities with legacy subledgers

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Test scripts and test evidence
Mapping and reconciliation documents
Support:
Knowledge transfer to client teams
Go‑live readiness and hypercare activities
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
4–8 years of experience in banking finance or accounting system implementations
Practical experience with:
SAP S/4HANA Finance integration
Strong understanding of:
Banking products accounting
Good working knowledge of:
IFRS 9 fundamentals (implementation perspective)
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with:
Core banking systems integration
Reconciliation and finance close cycles
Exposure to other SAP Fioneer offerings (advantage)
Prior experience in:
Large SAP programs
Regulatory or audit‑driven finance transformation
2 end to end SAP FPSL implementation experiences.
SAP S/4HANA knowledge
Analytical and problem‑solving mindset
Ability to work under guidance of Finance Lead / Architect
Clear communication with finance and IT stakeholders
Valuable to SAP S/4HANA ABAP Skills
Configured FPSL banking objects and posting logic
Tested and validated accounting outcomes
Reconciliation results and defect fixes
Functional documentation and KT materials
Go‑live and hypercare support artifacts
