We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Vancouver Head Office. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for developing people, improving processes, and leveraging technology to drive efficiency.
This opportunity is well suited for an experienced Senior Accountant ready to step into management or an existing Accounting Manager looking to make a broader impact within a growing organization.
Job Duties:
Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes across a large portfolio, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting
Manage the preparation and review of financial statements and internal management reports for a portfolio of entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
Oversee accounting operations, including transaction review, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
Manage, coach, and develop accounting team members by providing mentorship, feedback, training and opportunities for professional growth
Support team performance by prioritizing workloads, setting expectations, and ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently achieved
Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders by providing clear communication, financial insights, and proactive support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting capabilities
Prepare and review year-end audit working papers and act as the primary liaison with external auditors to support efficient audit completion
Oversee the preparation and review of partnership and corporate tax filings in compliance with regulatory requirements
Support the implementation and adoption of new technologies, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements while maintaining strong data accuracy, security, and internal control practices
Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability when evaluating emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, while considering cybersecurity and data privacy consideration
Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting initiatives to provide actionable insights to leadership
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with experience leading, mentoring, or supervising others preferred
CPA Designation is required
Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting and internal controls Strong leadership and mentor abilities
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced workplace
Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify opportunities for increased efficiency
Comfortable working with technology and adapting to current systems, tools, and processes
Interest in leveraging technology and emerging tools, including AI, to improve workflows while maintaining strong cybersecurity and data accuracy practices
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems and reporting tools
