About the role:

Reporting to the Manager Perioperative Services,



you will beresponsible for providing quality nursing care to patients including complex patient populations whose outcomes arenot predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within the ProfessionalStandards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the

Philosophy of patient and family centered care, mission vision,values and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional

Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse withthe College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Certification from a formal Perioperative Nursing Course ordemonstrated continuing education in Perioperative Nursing
- Recent knowledge in Perioperative Nursing with experience incirculating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical procedures, sterile technique and maintaining the sterileenvironment, wound management and infection control, laser technique, hemodynamic monitoring, pneumatic tourniquets,and electrosurgical units
- Recent knowledge in Surgical Nursing with experience caring forpre and postoperative surgical patients
- Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized careplanning and delivery
- Collaborates and provides consult to Registered PracticeNurse's when patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes that are not as expected
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action




- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
- Robust interprofessional and communication skills

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who:
- Have a certification, or recent continuing education in Perioperative Nursing

On‑call availability is a requirement for these positions.

Salary Range: $41.150 to 58.980
