THE OPPORTUNITY The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a permanent full-time opportunity in the capacity of Administrative Assistant to Vice Principal.

1 FTE; 35 hours per week
Hourly Pay Rate:
$30.93-$37.66 per hour; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Reporting to the Principal and Vice Principal, the Administrative Assistant to Vice-Principal is responsible for providing confidential clerical, and receptionist duties in the office of a secondary school. This role supports the efficient operation of the school office and provides essential administrative assistance to staff, students, and the school community.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for performing confidential clerical and reception duties in the school including:
- Provide confidential administrative support for the principal and vice-principal
- Student attendance processing and field trip paperwork
- Assist Administration with staff absences, SmartFind and timesheets
- Utilize Edsembli to ensure accurate student data, ensuring reliable information for school operational needs.
- Establish and maintain manual and automated filing systems
- Format and run Edsembli reports and report cards
- Completion of monthly enrolment reports
- Preparing and following up on a variety of correspondence, reports and documents
- Duties assigned by the Office Co-ordinator-Secondary, Principal and/or Vice-Principal
- Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent education and experience deemed equivalent by the Board
- Proficiency in spelling, punctuation, grammatical usage
- Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Edsembli and ability to use a variety of computer applications and databases
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to confidentiality at all times
- Solid organizational, multitasking skills and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to collaborate with others in a professional, respectful, equitable and inclusive manner.
- Familiarity with Edsembli is considered an asset
