Support the Indigenous community as a Departmental Assistant at Queen's University. Provide essential administrative and financial support in a culturally rich workplace focused on Indigenous wellbeing. In this vital role, you'll assist the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre with organizational, financial, and administrative tasks. The position requires being the point of contact for the department while working closely with the Director to enhance the experience of Indigenous students.
Responsibilities include managing communications, financial transactions, and planning events, ensuring effective operation and support within the center. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the department’s contact for information requests
- Perform all bookkeeping,
from accounts payable to reconciliations
- Coordinate event planning and manage room bookings
- Order office supplies and confirm expense processing
- Administer payroll and hiring paperwork for casual employees Requirements:
- Two-Year Community College Diploma
- 1-2 years of relevant administrative experience
- Experience with Indigenous communities is an asset
- Successful Criminal Records Check required
