This is a senior leadership position within the Learning Disabilities Association, working collaboratively and collegially within a team setting that prioritizes consultation. As a part of our senior leadership team, this role supports the organization by consulting and informing all programs and initiatives of the association. To facilitate this, all senior leadership employees will have full access to all grants, projects descriptions, reports and funding proposals.
Participation in a weekly planning session is mandatory. The leadership team reports directly to the Board of Directors through a quarterly update that is developed and submitted collaboratively. The senior team share's a responsibility to ensure that the HR policy is closely adhered to and violations or conflicts are reported immediately to the HR subcommittee.
Responsibilities
- The Advocacy and Outreach Manager is responsible for supporting parents and individuals with LD/ADHD in understanding their learning needs, advocating for supports,
and navigating through service systems.
- Meet with clients, review assessments/school reports.
- Liaise with service providers, and attend meetings (where requested) with a goal of empowering the client to better advoacte for themselves and navigate independentaly.
- This may include developing and delivering public presentations on learning disabilities, liaising with other advocacy and stakeholder groups, meeting with government officials and working to raise awareness of LD/ADHD in our commjunity.
- As a person with training and expertise in LD/ADHD, the position will overlap with the screening and tutoring programs to help strategize and consult where needed.
- The manager remains especially attentive to emerging research and policy changes related to the series that we provide.
Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
