This is not a traditional AI Engineer role focused on model development, RAG implementations, or prompt engineering. The ideal candidate will specialize in enabling AI platforms within a large enterprise environment — configuring AI capabilities, implementing governance controls, partnering with Information Security and Risk teams, and supporting users adopting AI technologies.
The AI Platform Engineer will work across platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, AWS Bedrock, and SageMaker, helping define enterprise guardrails, enable new features, manage platform configurations, and ensure AI capabilities are delivered securely and efficiently.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The AI Platform Engineer will focus on enabling and scaling enterprise Generative AI capabilities across the organization. This role will involve managing and configuring AI platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, AWS Bedrock, and SageMaker while partnering closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Product teams to implement governance controls, security guardrails, and responsible AI practices.
The engineer will support platform onboarding, feature enablement, user adoption, and troubleshooting for business and technical users while managing platform configurations, access controls, usage limits, monitoring, and cost optimization.
They will also help translate emerging AI capabilities into enterprise-ready solutions by evaluating new features, supporting vendor integrations, creating documentation and best practices, and driving continuous improvements across the AI platform ecosystem.
Must-Haves:
7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or related technical roles, with hands-on experience supporting enterprise platforms
1-2+ years of experience working with Generative AI platforms / emerging AI technologies (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker)
Robust AWS cloud experience with the ability to configure, manage, and support enterprise cloud-based platforms
Experience partnering with Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Engineering teams to implement governance controls, access policies, security guardrails, and platform configurations
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical AI capabilities into business solutions and support enterprise adoption Plusses:
Experience enabling and managing enterprise AI platforms, including AI governance, responsible AI practices, user onboarding, and platform adoption
Experience with AWS AI services and cloud-native technologies (Bedrock, SageMaker, EKS, Lambda, Fargate, Glue, Athena)
Experience with automation and platform engineering tools such as Python, Terraform, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices
Familiarity with emerging AI technologies including AI agents, MCP integrations, LLM gateways, RAG architectures, and prompt-based applications
Experience working in regulated industries (financial services preferred) with knowledge of enterprise risk management, compliance requirements, and cost/usage monitoring We may use AI-enabled and/or automated tools to support parts of our recruitment process, including application screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications. These tools are used to enhance consistency and efficiency. All hiring decisions involve human review and are not based solely on automated processing.
