Fonctions Spécifiques/Specific functions
Ensure a regular presence in the population’s living workplace (organisms, streets, bars, youth house, school, etc.)
- Develop a trust based relationship with youth and adults around them
- Contribute to the suicide prevention efforts, addiction and STI prevention, etc
- Intervene based on the harm reduction approach and aim for the people’s autonomy
- Teamwork, develop and put activities in motion alongside coworkers and community organisms (School, NV, Youth house, etc.)
- Work within a crisis intervention team
- Any other tasks related to the position.
Exigences spécifiques/Specific Requirements
- Must hold a Secondary V diploma or equivalent; Experience with community organizing is an asset; Ability to work with a clientele that lived through various traumatic episodes ; Experience with suicide crisis intervention is considered an asset ; Be fluent in Inuktitut and or be a person of Inuit ancestry; knowledge of English, spoken and written; knowledge of French would be an asset; Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team and interest in sharing work experiences and knowledge with colleagues ; Capacity to establish a relationship based on trust with the population and clients ; Autonomy is required; Able to work with various computer programs such as: Outlook, Word,
Excel and others Being seen as a positive model amongst the community; Be at work steadily, be able to travel when necessary and participate in different training sessions; Flexibility when it comes to work schedules : day –evening – weekdays - weekends ; Valid driver’s license is an asset.
