Job Title: AV Support Technician
Location: Toronto, ON/Onsite
Duration: 11-12 months
Client: Transportation
Pay Rate: CAD $45/hr - $50/hr
Must have:
- 5+ years of experience in IT/AV support with a strong focus on conference room and meeting space AV environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting Google Meet Rooms hardware and software.
- Experience with Logitech Rally products, including Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, cameras, microphones, speakers, and room controllers.
- Experience supporting Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video conferencing systems.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech Room Scheduling Displays and room schedulers.
- Proven experience installing and configuring conference rooms, including mounting displays, installing cameras, running and terminating cabling, and provisioning AV equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across AV hardware, conferencing platforms, audio/video systems, scheduling systems, and basic networking.
- Experience supporting Windows laptops/desktops and administering Apple/macOS devices in an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switches, Wi‑Fi, TCP/IP, and AV‑over‑IP technologies.
- Experience using enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, or similar.
- Familiarity with AV signal types and connectors including HDMI, USB-C, SDI, Dante, and AVoIP.
- Excellent customer service, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and install AV equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or working toward certification.
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, Q‑SYS, Poly, Yealink, Biamp,
or similar AV ecosystems.
- Experience with audio DSP platforms and conference room control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and technical schematics.
- Experience supporting live corporate events, webinars, or town halls is an asset.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily health checks and proactive AV sweeps of conference rooms to identify and resolve issues before meetings begin.
- Provide on-site and remote support for conference room technologies, including Google Meet Rooms, displays, projectors, cameras, microphones, speakers, and conferencing peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Logitech Rally systems, Neat Bar Pro devices, and Logitech Room Scheduling Displays.
- Install, configure, test, and commission recent conference rooms, including AV hardware, displays, cameras, cabling, and room controllers.
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems to ensure high-quality audio and video performance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and scheduling issues affecting conference room functionality.
- Respond to IT Helpdesk escalations, manage support tickets, and provide timely issue resolution for end users.
- Maintain AV hardware inventory, spare equipment, software assets, and procurement records.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles in Confluence.
- Monitor AV system health, perform firmware/software updates, and coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with AV setup and technical support for internal meetings, town halls, webinars, and company events when required.
- Stay current with emerging AV and Unified Communications technologies and recommend improvements to enhance the meeting room experience.
