Job Overview

We are seeking two dedicated butchers to join our dynamic team in the food industry. Core Responsibilities

- Artisanal Butchery: Break down beef, pork, poultry, and lamb carcasses or primal into premium retail cuts, steaks, roasts, and specialty items.
- Customer Consultations: Greet guests, recommend specific cuts for various recipes, advise on cooking techniques, and fulfill custom portion requests on demand.
- Merchandising: Arrange and rotate fresh meat, marinated items,



and house-made sausages in the display case to maximize visual appeal and ensure freshness.
- Shop Upkeep: Adhere to strict health codes by continuously sanitizing blocks, counters, and scales, and sharpening knives and equipment daily.

Key Requirements
- Retail Experience: Proven track record in a customer-facing butcher shop or gourmet deli, with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Product Expertise: Deep understanding of meat grades, marbling, aging processes, and culinary preparation.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (approx. 23 kg) and stand for full shifts in a climate-controlled retail environment.
- Previous Experience: previous experience with a bandsaw and slicing of meat is an asset.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

- Barrie, ON L4M 4Z9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
