Adecco is currently seeking a Category Manager to join a top-tier global consumer goods (CPG/FMCG) company in North York, ON. In this role, you will serve as the primary Trade Marketing contact for your assigned category, leading the development and execution of local category strategies to maximize category performance across key retail channels. You will leverage shopper insights to develop retail mix standards and drive category growth.
Additionally, you will support the strategic direction of Trade Marketing by strengthening category management practices, optimizing innovation launches and assortment management, and ensuring shopper and trade insights are integrated into key business decisions.
- Pay rate: $55.29/hr
- Location: North York, ON
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days a week on site)
- Shifts: Monday-Friday | Shift within 8:00am-5:00pm
- Job type: 12 months contract with a possibility of extension

Main Responsibilities:
CATEGORY MANAGEMENT
•Responsible and single point of contact for the assigned category
•Develop effective medium-and long-term local strategies in line with the client's Marketing guidelines for the assigned category (ex. visibility target setting), maximizing category potential
•Build category growth selling stories and category vision
•Implement appropriate category development actions in collaboration with the Trade at the Point of Sales
•Responsible for planograms guidelines and indications on how to place the products on the shelves for the category assigned
•Develop retail mix levers standards aligned with Trade categories priorities to support sales negotiation (i.e. shelf, secondary placement, checkouts current visibility vs target)
•Drive MyPS target setting,
defining MyPs objectives for in-store spaces and positioning (ex: type and quantity of Trade units, standard action square meters, etc.)
•Improve existing portfolio performances in mature channels and define guidelines for effective roll out in emerging channels, developing and deploying brand activation guidelines
•Establish effective Category Management tools, processes and meeting cycles to raise local capabilities
•Identify business potential for the assigned category
•Contribute to the definition and implementation of ad hoc projects for the assigned category
•Support Marketing on New Product Development (NPD) activities to ensure category and shopper dynamic and trends are reflected in a proper way
SHOPPER INSIGHTS AND ANALYSIS
•Develop capabilities about shopper insights on existing and new sub-categories
•Monitor and analyze trade, competitors and shopper market data related to the assigned category to identify business opportunities and develop new category development plans
•Manage shopper KPIs analysis and understanding for the assigned category
POINT OF SALE ACTIVITIES
•Define the placement guidelines for shelf, checkouts and second placement for the assigned category
Qualification:
•7-10 years’ experience working within CPG/FMCG industry and category management
•Strong Knowledge of Ferrero Company, brands, strategy and Perfect Store Models
•Strong knowledge of Canadian Retail landscape
•Strong knowledge of Category Management and Syndicated data
•Knowledge of Space Management Software
•Proven experience in process and project management
•Budget Management Experience
•Knowledge of Customer Business Team procedures and processes
•Knowledge of Ferrero’s internal systems – BP, SAP, BI
•Strong Knowledge of industry best practices
•Working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word
