We are looking for Class 1 Truck Driversto join us and become part of our Arrow family in Grande Prairie, AB.As an Arrow driver, you will be hauling wood fibre locally in B train trailers. Wood fibre is mainly comprised of wood chips, but we also haul sawdust and hogfuel. You will travel on various highways in and around Grande Prairie.

Responsibilities

- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of protected practices, compliance with applicable Acts andRegulations.

- Perform pre and post andenroute trip inspections on equipmentoperated, ensuring safety,roadworthinessand regulatory compliance.

- Comply withapplicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.

- Complywithall rules and regulations, protocols andestablishedmetrics.





- Efficiently maneuver truckand trailer(s)into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.

- Mayoperateloading equipment as per role requirements.

- Check mobile equipment (i.e.frontendloaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.

- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.

- Report all safety hazards or conditionsencounteredat load, unload,yardand shop sites.

- Record,Maintainand Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete andaccurate.

- Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.

- Complete electronicand/or manuallogs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.

- Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers.

- Assistin loading and unloading of trucks.

- Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.

- Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.Tarping loads may be a requirement.

- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.





- Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatchregardingcustomer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.

- Ensure that all customers,co-workersand the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.

- Train others whenrequired.

You Possess

- Class 1 driver’s license

- Super B and mountain driving experience is required

- Proven ability to drive in snowand other adverse weather conditions

- Ability to to chain tires when necessary

- Cleandriversabstract or record

- Ability to read, write and speak in English

- Front End Loader experience is an asset

- Ability to move 100 pounds, lift 50 lbs overhead and lift to shoulder height 75lbs

- Ability to sit long durations

- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test

- Ability to take and follow directionAbility to understand cross training on all functions at facility

- Strong safety mindsetand quality oriented

- Needs to be responsible,accountableand dependable

- Demonstratesstrong communicationskills both verbally and written

- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

- Computer Literate

- Basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance requirements
