Role Description

The CNC Programmer / Material Optimization Specialist is a full time, on-site role based in Vaughan, ON. This role is responsible for programming CNC machines, preparing and optimizing machining files, and ensuring efficient use of materials for custom millwork and fixtures. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, creating and adjusting CNC programs, setting up machining parameters, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve workflow and minimize waste. The specialist monitors production runs,



troubleshoots machining issues, maintains accurate documentation, and supports continuous improvement in quality, safety, and productivity on the shop floor.

Qualifications

- Ability to interpret and apply Technical Drawing skills for millwork and fixture manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CNC Programming and Programming for production environments.
- Hands-on experience with Machining and Milling operations on wood, metal, and related materials.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a focus on material optimization and waste reduction.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software and familiarity with CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, or similar) is an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and quality control practices in a fabrication environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, project management, and shop personnel, and to work efficiently on-site.
- Post-secondary education or technical training in manufacturing, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
