Communications and Community Investment Specialist (Temporary - 18-month contract)

As a key player in the financial services marketplace of Northern Ontario, we are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a temporary (18-month contract) Communications and Community Investment Specialist.

The Communications andCommunity Investment Specialistplays a keyrole in strengtheningNorthern’s presence withinthe communities weserve by leadingcommunications, communityinvestment, employee engagement, and outreach initiativesaligned with Northern’sCorporate Social Responsibility(CSR) strategy. Workingcollaboratively with branchteams, internal departments, and community partners, this role developsprograms and relationshipsthat create measurableimpact while enhancingNorthern’s reputation asa trusted communitypartner.

This role providesstrategic and hands-on support formarketing campaigns andpromotions by developingcopy, content, andcommunication strategiesthat align withcampaign objectives, keyperformance indicators,and organizational goals. Responsibilities includecreating content fordigital channels suchas social media, websites, Google, onlinebanking, and mobileapplications, as wellas print andin-branch materialsincluding posters, handouts, brochures, and advertisements.





The Communications andCommunity Investment Specialistcoordinates and overseescommunity investment initiativesacross Northern’s footprint, including fundraisingcampaigns, sponsorships,community events, andemployee volunteer activities. This role managesfunding approvals, budgets, reporting, and performancetracking while evaluatinginitiatives through keyperformance indicatorsand post-eventanalysis to ensurealignment withCSRpriorities and maximizecommunity impact.

Representing Northern atcommunity events andthrough outreach activities, this role buildsstrong relationships withlocal organizations, identifiesopportunities to enhancepartnerships, and contributesto communications andpromotional efforts thatreinforce Northern’s commitmentto the communitieswe serve.

Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:

- Post-secondary educationin Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, CommunityDevelopment, or arelated field.
- Minimum of three(3) years ofexperience in communications, community engagement,marketing, fundraising,event coordination, CSR, or a relatedfield.
- Experience developing communicationsstrategies and creatingcontent for digitaland print channels.
- Excellent written communicationskills with theability to createengaging marketing andcommunications content.




- Strong organizational andproject management skillswith the abilityto manage multiplepriorities and meetdeadlines.
- Experience coordinatingevents, community investmentinitiatives, grants, orsponsorship programs.
- Demonstrated ability tobuild collaborative relationshipswith internal andexternal stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets, preparing reports, andevaluating program outcomes.
- Proficiency with MicrosoftOffice Suite(Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's licenseand willingness totravel throughout Northern'sservice area andwork flexible schedule, including evenings andweekends, as required.

Salary Range: $50,800.00 to $63,500.00
