Ecoland Inc. is hiring one experienced Concrete Finisher for permanent, full-time employment. The successful candidate will work on site at our Caledon location and at various project locations, including Caledon, Brampton, Oakville, Kitchener, Cambridge and Brantford.

Responsibilities

- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
- Fill hollows and remove spots from freshly poured concrete.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Level concrete surfaces according to grade and depth specifications.
- Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and related fixtures.
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure concrete surfaces.
- Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Spread, compact, level and smooth concrete using rakes, shovels, trowels, screeds and floats.

Requirements

- Two years to less than three years of related concrete-finishing experience.




- No degree, certificate or diploma required.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power concrete-finishing tools.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work.
- Ability to bend, kneel, handle materials and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to understand drawings, grades and specifications.
- English language required.

Compensation and schedule

- $43.58 per hour.
- 40 hours per week.
- Permanent, full time position.
- Day, weekend and overtime work available.
- Overtime and vacation pay provided in accordance with Ontario law.
