Position Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced carpenter who takes pride in quality workmanship and leads by example.

The Foreman works alongside the crew each day while coordinating site activities, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards expected by 11 North Construction.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the tools, solving problems, taking ownership of their work, and helping develop a strong team culture without the administrative responsibilities of a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform skilled carpentry and residential renovation work on a daily basis.
- Lead by example while maintaining a productive, safe, and professional job site.
- Complete residential renovation projects including full-home renovations, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks, and fences.
- Coordinate daily work with crew members, apprentices, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assist in keeping projects on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Complete protection, demolition, framing, structural modifications, drywall installation and repairs, taping, bathroom waterproofing (Schluter® systems), flooring, trim, doors, cabinetry installation, painting, and general finishing work.




- Identify site challenges and communicate practical solutions to management.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
- Assist with material planning, organization, and inventory management.
- Ensure all work meets Ontario Building Code requirements and company quality standards.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with homeowners, designers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction and renovation experience.
- Strong carpentry skills with experience in residential renovations.
- Previous experience leading small crews or mentoring junior employees.
- Proficiency in framing, finishing carpentry, trim work, cabinetry installation, and general renovations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Own a professional set of hand and power tools.
- English proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Basic construction math skills.
- Working at Heights certification is considered an asset.

Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Typical hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
