Star Dance Centre is launching its first dedicated competitive dance stream for the 2026-2027 season, training dancers ages 7 to 15 across K-Pop and Hip Hop. We are hiring a Competition Stream Dance Instructor to lead Hip Hop Foundations and Jazz Technique as the core weekly training for all competitive team members.
This is a part‑time, in‑person role with a fixed Thursday schedule: 5:00-6:00pm Jazz Technique and 6:00-7:00pm Hip Hop Foundations, both for ages 10-15. These two classes are mandatory for every competitive team dancer and form the technical backbone of the entire program. The right person teaches foundations in a way that translates directly to performance quality, not just drill repetition.
Instructors are responsible for delivering technically rigorous classes, giving clear and constructive corrections, collaborating with the team coach on performance and competition preparation,
and tracking student growth across the full season.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 2 years of experience coaching or teaching in a competitive dance environment
- Strong technical foundation in both Jazz and Hip Hop
- Experience preparing young dancers for competitions and adjudicated performances
- Ability to give corrections clearly and constructively in a group setting
- Collaborative, qualified, and committed to the full season schedule
- Experience with competitive studios or dance companies is required
- Must be able to commute to North York reliably every Thursday
