Role: Data Designer / Data Steward

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 6-12 month contract with high possibility of extension

Overview

We are seeking experienced Data Designers / Data Stewards to support enterprise data governance, metadata management, privacy compliance, and data migration initiatives within a BFSI environment. The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in data governance frameworks, stakeholder management, Agile delivery, and data quality processes while working across business and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and support enterprise Data Governance Frameworks (DAF).
- Manage and maintain metadata, data lineage, and data quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, regulatory, and governance requirements.
- Support workspace readiness and migration activities.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align data initiatives.
- Manage and prioritize backlogs using JIRA and Agile methodologies.
- Facilitate governance discussions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Identify, track, and resolve data-related issues and risks.




- Provide escalation management and drive issue resolution across teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and governance processes.

Required Qualifications

- Strong experience in Data Governance Frameworks (DAF).
- Hands-on expertise in Metadata Management.
- Strong understanding of Privacy and Compliance Processes.
- Experience working within Agile Delivery Methodologies.
- Proficiency with JIRA and backlog management.
- Experience supporting workspace and migration readiness processes.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Strong risk management, issue resolution, and escalation management skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience within Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI).
- Knowledge of enterprise data management best practices.
- Experience working in large-scale transformation or migration projects.
