Deli Clerk / Food Service Employee

Location: Mission, BC

Job type: Part Time

Hours: Must be available to work 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Pay: $18.25

We are looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking Deli Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare fresh food, serve deli and Water Stop customers, maintain a clean workspace, and provide excellent customer service in a busy workplace.

Responsibilities

- Prepare bunwiches and other deli items accurately and efficiently
- Safely slice meats and cheeses using deli equipment
- Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables
- Stock shelves, coolers, and deli supplies
- Monitor stock levels and rotate products to maintain freshness
- Keep the deli, equipment, counters, and customer areas clean and sanitary
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures
- Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
- Take orders and respond to customer questions
- Serve and manage customers visiting the Water Stop
- Handle several tasks at once and remain calm during busy periods




- Work cooperatively with other team members
- Complete other duties as required

Qualifications
- Must be available to work 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
- A valid FOODSAFE certificate is required
- Previous deli, food-preparation, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Comfortable using—or willing to learn how to use—a commercial meat slicer
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Able to work quickly, accurately, and safely under pressure
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail
