Kitchener
Dental Sterilization, Reprocessing & Clinical Support Technologist
Dental Care Asleep — Kitchener, Ontario A unique opportunity. Dental Care Asleep has a single opening for the right individual. Could this be you?
We'd like to tell you a bit about us before you decide whether it sounds like you.
Dental Care Asleep has been Kitchener's longest-standing certified Dental Anesthesia Specialist practice since 2004. We provide the full scope of dentistry under general anesthesia, working alongside Certified Specialists in Dental Anesthesia, registered nurses, dental assistants and administrative staff. It's a close team and a genuinely good group to spend a day with.
The role
Our Sterilization & Reprocessing Technologist works in steri-bay, cleaning, inspecting, packaging and sterilizing surgical instrumentation to a documented protocol, alongside our IPAC coordinator, along with equipment maintenance and keeping the reprocessing area running well.
The primary focus and scope of development will be in reprocessing and sterilization — work that rewards concentration, done without juggling or interruption. Alongside that, there's daily documentation of sterilization records, keeping instrument and supply inventory stocked, and cleaning and turning over operatories between cases. There will also be an opportunity to develop skills in our client and patient-facing administrative and reception department.
Over time you'd come to understand how a surgical practice fits together from more than one vantage point, without ever losing the depth that comes from doing one thing well.
What you'll learn
Thinking about a career in healthcare? Nursing, medicine,
dental assisting or hygiene — it's a rare vantage point on surgical care, and a reference from us means something.
This is a real training opportunity, and we take it seriously. You'll be trained to a high standard in reprocessing and sterilization — instrument identification, decontamination, packaging, sterilizer operation, monitoring and documentation — along with patient privacy and our front-desk systems, at a pace that suits how you learn.
What you bring is the care and the consistency; the technical side we're glad to teach.
Who tends to thrive here
People who stay steady when the day gets busy, take pride in getting details right, and work the same way whether or not anyone's watching. Warmth with patients matters too — many of ours are anxious about being here, and a calm, friendly face makes a real difference. A background in athletics, music, or anything else you've had to keep showing up for over a long stretch is always a plus.
Hours
Our operating day runs 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and this role usually begins around 9:00 or 9:30, when instruments from the morning's first surgeries start arriving.
We're looking for someone versatile who can give the position their full focus.
We'll walk through the day-to-day rhythm together when we meet.

If this sounds like you
Send a résumé and a few sentences on each of these — they tell us far more than a cover letter does:
- Tell us about a team or group you committed to, and a time you showed up for it when it would have been easier not to.
- Describe something you've done that needed real precision, and how you made sure you got it right.
- Why this role in particular?
- Where would you like to be in three years, and how might this fit?
