Take on a pivotal role as a Planner focusing on Development Approvals for the City of Kingston. This temporary full time position allows you to shape the future of the community over the next 18 months. The Planner will report directly to the Supervisor, Development Approvals, managing planning applications through report preparation and public representation.
The role entails data collection, analysis, and advising the public while assisting senior planning staff with inquiries and compliance matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare site plan and subdivision agreements as needed
- Review and process development applications thoroughly
- Provide direction to technical and clerical support staff
- Complete area-specific land use plans and policies
- Conduct research to support planning studies Requirements:
- 4-year degree in urban planning or related field
- 1 year of relevant experience in the field
- Understanding of Ontario's planning framework
- Membership eligibility in OPPI
