Position Summary The Director, Operations and Partnerships is a senior leadership role responsible for strengthening the Caribbean Canadian Association of Waterloo Region's operational effectiveness, financial sustainability, and community impact. The successful candidate will lead strategic partnerships, oversee organizational operations, and drive fundraising initiatives with a strong focus on grant research, grant writing, and grant management.

This role requires an experienced relationship builder who can cultivate partnerships with government agencies, foundations, corporations, educational institutions, and community organizations while ensuring the organization has the operational capacity to deliver high-quality programs and services.

This senior leadership position is ideal for a strategic thinker and relationship builder with a proven track record in grant writing, partnership development, fundraising, and nonprofit operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the organization's sustainability by securing funding, building strategic partnerships, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead grant research, proposal writing, and funding applications to government, corporate, and foundation funders.

Develop and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, businesses, and government agencies.

Identify new funding opportunities and diversify organizational revenue.

Support organizational operations,



strategic planning, and policy development.

Prepare reports for funders, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors.

Represent CCAWR at community events and strengthen the organization's profile throughout Waterloo Region.

Education The ideal candidate will have:

A bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Three to five years of experience in nonprofit leadership, partnership development, fundraising, or community engagement.

Experience

Demonstrated success securing grants from government, foundation, and corporate funders.

Outstanding grant writing, project management, and communication skills.

Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Experience managing multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.

Experience working with Caribbean, Black, multicultural, newcomer, or community-serving organizations is considered a strong asset.

Compensation: The annual starting salary for this role will be between $70,000 and $85,000 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
