What is the prospect?
The Strategic Execution team within the Chief Legal and Administrative Office (CLAO) plays a critical role in driving highly visible, enterprise-level transformation initiatives providing thought leadership and collaborating with senior leaders to contribute to strategic objectives and the clear path to execution excellence. We are seeking a high-performing and motivated leader to join our team to lead the delivery of enterprise-wide strategic and regulatory initiatives. This role enables business-driven transformation by fostering effective project governance and driving the delivery of meaningful outcomes that align with RBC’s long-term strategic objectives. This is a people management role with responsibility for driving larger, more complex, and strategic initiatives while engaging and influencing senior executives across the Bank.
What will you do?
- Oversee the successful delivery of enterprise-wide, high-impact strategic and regulatory initiatives within the Financial Crimes Anti-Money Laundering (FCAML) space
- Lead large-scale, complex programs requiring cross-functional coordination, accountability, and stakeholder engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business leaders, providing strategic insights and recommendations on program direction and decision-making
- Represent the Strategic Execution team in senior governance forums, including Steering Committees and Executive Committees, delivering clear, concise, and impactful program updates, risks, and recommendations
- Ensure transparency in data and technology risks, controls, and progress by driving consistent and effective program reporting at all levels
- Drive the adoption of standardized project governance frameworks, tools, and best practices to ensure effective program delivery and governance
- Oversee the management of RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
logs and interdependencies across programs to proactively identify and resolve roadblocks
- Partner with third-party suppliers/consultants as needed, ensuring alignment with RBC’s delivery standards and governance frameworks
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Undergraduate university degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA or relevant professional designation strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of medallion data architecture
- 8+ years of experience in project and program management, with a demonstrated track record of leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Strong executive presence, with experience interfacing with senior executives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint (executive-level storyboarding and presentations)
- Experience leading large-scale, complex strategic and regulatory programs
Nice to Have
- Management Consulting experience
- Experience with Financial Crimes functions such as High-Risk Clients, Financial Investigation Unit, Analytics, KYC, Sanctions, etc…
- Regulatory programs and/or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified
- Experience with enterprise transformation initiatives
