Now Hiring: Two Experienced Long-Distance Moving Drivers/Crew Leaders

We are looking for two solid, reliable, and highly experienced individuals to join our growing long-distance moving crew for the upcoming busy season.

MTS Moving specializes in long-distance moving, and this position is not the same as working for a local moving company. Long-distance moves require a much higher level of planning, organization, documentation, and loading skill because customers’ belongings may remain on the truck for extended periods and travel long distances across Ontario.

The ideal candidate must understand how to properly wrap, inventory, load, balance, secure, and protect household goods for long-distance transportation. Simply having local moving experience may not be enough unless you have strong knowledge of long-haul packing and loading procedures.

This is steady, legitimate work, not a short-term gig or a quick cash opportunity. The position is ideal for someone who wants consistent hours, dependable income, and the opportunity to work regularly with the same professional team.

We run a tight, organized operation. Reliability, communication, punctuality, and following through on commitments are taken seriously. If you frequently cancel shifts, arrive late, or stop responding, this position will not be a good fit.

The official start date is the 15th of August. However, shortlisted candidates may be invited to complete an earlier paid field assessment so we can evaluate their practical knowledge, driving ability, leadership, and long-distance moving skills.

Responsibilities

- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate logbooks and compliance documentation
- Keep the truck clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Confirm that all required equipment, supplies, and protective materials are available

- Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after service
- Conduct on-site walkthroughs to confirm the full scope of work
- Document item conditions using photos, videos, and company software
- Manage inventory tags, shipment records, and customer documentation
- Properly wrap and protect furniture for long-distance transportation
- Build a stable and secure load that can withstand extended highway travel
- Distribute weight correctly throughout the truck
- Prevent shifting, crushing, rubbing, and damage during transit
- Use straps, blankets, shrink wrap, mattress bags, and other protective materials correctly
- Load shipments in the correct order based on delivery sequence
- Manage shared or multiple-customer truck space when required
- Track inventory carefully to prevent missing or mixed items
- Understand truck-weight limits and weighing procedures
- Attend weigh stations and complete required documentation when necessary
- Safely transport household goods across long distances within Ontario
- Lead and direct moving helpers to maintain productivity and efficiency
- Follow company time standards and operating procedures
- Obtain customer confirmations, approvals, and required signatures
- Restock supplies and prepare the vehicle for the next assignment

Typical shifts are approximately 8–12 hours, with longer days possible during the summer season and on long-distance assignments. The work is physical but organized, professional, and team-based.

Requirements

- Valid AZ OR DZ driver’s licence
- Comfortable and confident driving a moving truck
- Minimum of two years of qualified moving experience
- Long-distance moving experience strongly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of long-distance furniture wrapping and protection
- Strong truck-packing and space-management skills
- Ability to create a secure, balanced, and damage-resistant load
- Knowledge of weight distribution, truck scales, and weigh-station procedures
- Experience with inventory tagging and shipment documentation
- Ability to lead and direct a moving crew
- Reliable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly
- Basic English communication skills
- Physically capable of performing moving duties
- Comfortable with long days and extended travel within Ontario
- Interested in steady, long-term work rather than occasional shifts or quick cash

Compensation
- $23–$27 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, and reliability
- Compensation may be negotiated for highly qualified long-distance movers
- All travel time is fully paid, beginning when the truck is started and ending when it is parked at the completion of the workday
- Consistent hours are available for dependable team members
- Year-round work with no major winter slowdown

We are looking for professionals who understand that long-distance moving requires precision, accountability, and advanced loading skills.
