We're seeking a warm, energetic, and passionate Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to become part of our close-knit team. Our boutique licensed childcare centre offers a nurturing environment where relationships come first, children learn through play, and educators are valued for the unique talents they bring.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

- Has experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children.
- Is kind, dependable, and genuinely passionate about early childhood education.
- Enjoys spending time outdoors and believes in child-led, play-based learning.
- Works collaboratively while bringing creativity and initiative to the classroom.
- Holds a valid Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification (or is willing to obtain it).
- Can provide a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Bonus Skills We'd Love: We're especially interested in educators who can enrich our program through additional talents, such as:
- Conversational French or Spanish (or another second language)
- Playing a musical instrument (guitar, piano, ukulele, violin, etc.)
- Singing, movement, or dance instruction
- Nature education or outdoor learning experience
- Art, yoga, drama, or other creative specialties

Duties

- Assist lead educators in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote learning and development
- Support children with their daily routines, including meal times, naps, and bathroom breaks
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, educational activities, and social interactions to encourage growth
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment at all times
- Observe and document children’s progress, behaviors, and interests to inform teaching strategies
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to care
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized assistance

Skills

- Prior classroom experience working with young children or in early childhood settings is highly valued
- Robust communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Basic math skills for assisting with age-appropriate learning activities
- Ability to follow directions carefully while maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment
- Passion for nurturing children's development and fostering a love of learning
