Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure a secure, clean, and stimulating classroom environment
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging curiosity and independence through engaging activities
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about each child's progress, needs, and milestones
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and collaborating with specialists as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's developmental progress and daily activities
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including feeding, diapering, nap times, and transitions
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French or other languages are highly desirable to support diverse families
- Strong understanding of childcare principles, early childhood education standards, and child development stages
- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and team members
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in managing classroom activities and guiding School staff
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Time management skills to ensure smooth daily routines and timely completion of tasks
- Writing skills for accurate documentation and reporting on child progress
