Unlock the wonders of science as an Educational STEM Engagement Specialist with Science North. Engage students and communities in Northern Ontario through hands-on learning experiences and demonstrations. This full time position is based in Thunder Bay and includes travel throughout Northern Ontario's diverse communities.
You will play a crucial role in delivering compelling programming that fosters an interest in STEM among children, youth, and the public. Your passion and experience will facilitate science communication and enrich community engagement. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hands-on STEM demonstrations and educational programs
- Organize and participate in events across Northern Ontario
- Cultivate relationships within local communities
- Collaborate on developing educational exhibits and programs
- Gather and act on feedback to enhance programming Requirements:
- Formal education in STEM or equivalent experience
- Experience teaching or facilitating STEM programming required
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English and preferably French
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record Help make science accessible and exciting for everyone with Science North.
