Primary Purpose The Mine Maintenance Electrician is part of the Mine Maintenance team. He/She is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, communication networks, and mining operation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical distribution and communication networks.
- Maintain electrical equipment such as fans, compressors, bolters, jumbo drills, pumping systems, and other mining equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Maintain hoists/winches in accordance with CNESST inspection requirements and associated procedures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Perform maintenance on electrical systems and ensure records are kept up to date.
- Complete work orders and requisition materials as required.
- Comply with and enforce work procedures,
health and safety standards, environmental regulations, and respect for surrounding communities.
- Perform all other related duties as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Vocational Diploma (DEP) in electricity or equivalent trade certification.
- Valid Certificate of Qualification (Licence C, non-construction).
- Minimum of 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in the mining industry.
- Knowledge of SAP CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Completion of Mining Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7.
- Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Eleonore mine site (fly-in, fly-out from Montreal, Chibougamau, Matagami, Rouyn-Noranda, Val D'Or and Wemindji)
- Schedule: 14 working days followed by 14 days off
