Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer
Prospect ID: 4036 Description of Duties: A & O Senior Immigrant Settlement Services requires culturally sensitive volunteers, who enjoy working with older adults in our English Language Program for Seniors (ELP) Classroom.
The Volunteer
Helps students with classroom activities, including small group work and other learning activities.
Assists classroom teacher by working one-on-one or with small groups of students as assigned.
Skills Required Culturally sensitive
Interest in working with people from different cultures and with older adults
Leadership skills and experience in facilitating groups
Friendly and welcoming manner
Excellent English communication skills
Dedicated, reliable, and patient
Willing to accept direction and supervision from staff Skills Gained/Related Careers Group facilitation skills
Leaderships skills
EAL teacher Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+ Time Commitment: Daytime Minimum of two hours per week.
