This service is seeking prescribers who are comfortable with virtual OAT prescribing and/or Pharmaceutical
Alternatives prescribing The Northern Health Virtual Substance Use Stream
- Provides culturally safe and trauma informed support to people who use substances living in the North
including: assessment, nursing interventions, Opioid Agonist Therapy, and pharmaceutical alternatives to toxic street supply
- Makes appropriate and timely connections to local substance use supports, where available
- Operates in partnership with the Northern Health Virtual Primary & Community Care Clinic
- Uses phone and video appointments to reach patients
- Offers the prospect for providers to work virtually
Remuneration and scheduling Clinic times will be available 7 days a week in the afternoons. The 7-day-a-week model will be developed over time and is based on provider availability.
